Balancing work and family life can be challenging, especially when preparing for, taking, or returning from family leave. This programme supports University staff who are navigating parenthood alongside their careers, offering guidance at every and any stage of the transition.

 

What the Programme Offers

  • A supportive blend of in person and online sessions for staff navigating a return to work after the arrival of a child.
  • Practical guidance on childcare choices, managing sleep disruption, easing separation anxiety and maintaining wellbeing.
  • An in person welcome event introducing key University services including HR, Childcare Services and the Staff Wellbeing Team.
  • Short 30 - 40 minute bitesize sessions, offered twice weekly to fit around busy family life.
  • The programme repeats each term, so staff can join when the timing is right for them.

 

Who It's For

  • All University staff (including departments i.e those on payroll) preparing for, taking or returning from family related leave
  • Mothers, fathers, partners, adoptive parents and guardians - the programme is intentionally inclusive
  • Staff seeking support, confidence and clarify as they balance work and family responsibilities
