University run groups are a great way to meet other families and potentially develop new friendships and support.

  • The Stay and Play Group

Every Wednesday 10.00 am to Noon, in the West Cambridge Site Community Room, Charles Babbage Road, University of Cambridge. (term time only)

Come along and meet other families at this FREE event! Toys, games and messy play activities for children aged 0 – 5 years.

It is run by the Homerton/Fawcett Children's Centre in partnership with the University.

  • GU Parent & Toddler Group

Every Friday 10:30 am to Noon (in and out of term time) at the University Centre, Mill Lane, Cambridge.

Students and/or their partners can bring their young children to this free/informal group.  For more information please call the University Centre reception on 01223 (3)37766.

  • Craft Group

Every Thursday morning at 10:00 am in The Community Room at West Cambridge.  The purpose of the group is to encourage everyone to develop new skills in knitting and embroidery in a most relaxed atmosphere. Many of our members have produced memorable articles which they have taken back home as very special souvenirs of Cambridge. The group is run by Janet Edwards and Kate Paterson.

  • Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

This group supports newly arrived University members and visitors, along with partners and families, who are settling into life in Cambridge. There is a weekly meeting held during term time on a Tuesday from 10:45 am at the University Centre. There are also a variety of events held throughout the year.
