Keeping children safe
Children have the right to be completely secure from both the fear and reality of abuse, and we are committed to safeguarding all the children in our care from harm. We work closely with staff, parents, carers and external agencies to ensure that effective safeguarding procedures are always followed.
Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs)
Our DSL team has suitable experience, training and expertise in safeguarding matters. They are responsible for liaising with Social Care, the Local Children’s Safeguarding Board and Ofsted in any child protection matter.
There is always at least one trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on site during our provision.
The Playscheme Manager, Assistant Playscheme Manager, Playscheme and Family Information & Support Assistants are trained as DSLs.
Safeguarding Policy
UCHP’s Safeguarding policy complies with all relevant legislation and other guidance or advice from the Cambridgeshire Safeguarding Partnership Board (CSCP), Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC), Ofsted and other childcare regulatory bodies.
