About Us
The University Childcare Services supports staff and students by providing access to high-quality childcare, expert guidance and family-focused resources.
University Workplace Nurseries
We oversee four University Workplace Nurseries - Edwinstowe Close, West Cambridge, Eddington, and The Chris Abell Nursery - offering exceptional early years care for children aged three months to school age.
Staff with a nursery place may be eligible to join the Workplace Nurseries Salary Exchange Scheme, which offers savings on childcare costs through reduced tax and National Insurance contributions.
University Holiday Provision
Our holiday programmes provide safe, engaging, and inclusive childcare during school breaks:
- Holiday Playscheme - runs during state school holidays (excluding Christmas and Bank Holidays), offering a varied programme for children from Reception to 12 years.
- Multi Sports Camp - takes place during Easter and Summer holidays.
- NEW Pilot University Museum Series - a collaboration with local museums to offer bespoke sessions, enriching children’s experiences through creative and educational activities. New this Summer 2026!
