Nursery fees are the same for all ages and are agreed annually. Increases are finalised in line with contractual arrangements between the University and nursery management. There are no refunds for holidays or sickness.
As a staff member you will be eligible to pay for fees through the Workplace Salary Exchange Scheme (if you are on the University's monthly payroll). Please note that if you accept a student place, even if your partner is a staff member, you can not pay your fees via the Workplace Salary Exchange Scheme.
Early Years Funding
Early Years Funding (EYF) is a national scheme that funds part-time education for children.
There are three types of Early Years Funding:
- The universal entitlement is 15 hours per week for all 3 and 4-year-olds. This is applied for through the nursery.
- The extended entitlement (30 hours) is an additional 15 hours for eligible working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds.
- The expanded entitlement (30 hours) for eligible working parents from the age of 9 months old.
The funded hours apply the school term after your child turns the relevant age.
For more information and to find out if you are eligible for any funded hours of childcare please go to https://www.beststartinlife.gov.uk/
If you receive a code for your funded hours, give it your nursery team as soon as possible and they will confirm your funded fees to you.
Please be aware that although information is given on government websites regarding deadlines for applying for funding, it is our experience that delays do occur & it is best to apply as soon as possible.
There is further information on EYF available on the Cambridgeshire County Council website.
If you are using the University's Workplace Nurseries' Salary Exchange Scheme to pay your nursery fees and become eligible for Early Years Funding, you need to update the Childcare Services Office by completing a Request for Change Form. If you are new to the scheme, please complete an Application Form.
Any other payment methods should be arranged with your nursery.
