A Day at Playscheme (Trumpington Meadows)
The Playscheme environment is busy and vibrant, because we believe that every child needs to play, laugh, learn and discover each day they are with us.
At Playscheme we believe that all children and young people need to play. We think that every day, they should have the chance to be creative, to laugh and to discover new things. We encourage free flow play and give the children the opportunity to make their own decisions on how to spend their day.
Playscheme days are packed with engaging activities – whether your child enjoys getting creative with arts and crafts, exploring their baking skills, playing team games or getting messy with sensory activities, they’ll find something to lighten up their imagination!
What does a Playscheme day look like?
- Morning Drop-Off & Registration
Parents drop their children off at the beginning of the session, where they are welcomed by our friendly, experienced Playworkers.
- First Activity and Free Play
The first of our three scheduled activities begins. This is an opportunity for the children to engage in something together and make new friends right at the start of the day!
- Morning Snack
We provide a healthy snack, consisting of fruit or vegetables and something to recharge their energy levels.
- Outside run around
We encourage the children at Playscheme to take part in group games or simply enjoy being active in the outside space.
- Second Activity and Free Play
Children can look forward to taking part in a sporty activity, playing role play games with their friends or try a new skill.
- Lunchtime
A chance to refuel, chat with new friends and relax before the afternoon sessions begin. Lunches need to be provided by parents and must be healthy and nut-free. Please also provide a refillable water bottle.
- Outside run around
Playing outside and being active will encourage the children’s imaginations to soar and improve the friendships they have been building in the morning!
- Third Activity and Free Play
This is the longest activity session, so children can get ready to bake a tasty treat, get stuck into building something exciting or start developing a new skill.
- Afternoon Snack
The final snack time of the day, provided to give the children the final boost of energy to make the most of the last of the day.
- Final outside run around
The final run around of the day helps children to reset before heading into the final session of the day.
- Free play & end of day games
The day ends with relaxed, fun group games before heading inside to get ready for home time.
