Other groups

Newcomers and Visiting Scholars

This group supports newly arrived University members and visitors, along with partners and families, who are settling into life in Cambridge. There is a weekly meeting held during term time on a Tuesday from 10.45am-12 noon at the University Centre. There are also a variety of events held throughout the year. More information can be found at Newcomers and Visiting Scholars.  One of the groups that they run is the Craft Group every Thursday morning from 10am-12 noon in the Community Room at West Cambridge.  The purpose of the group is to encourage everyone to develop new skills in knitting and embroidery in a most relaxed atmosphere. Many of our members have produced memorable articles which they have taken back home as very special souvenirs of Cambridge. The group is run by Janet Edwards and Kate Paterson.
